Hero MotorCorp CEO Pawan Munjal said that the company has "lined up an investment" of over US $450m in order to "add capacities and brand building initiatives in domestic and global markets over the next two years. This is in keeping with the company’s vision of expanding its global footprint to 50 countries and total annual sales of 12 million units by the year 2020".
The company has taken a hit in its 2014/2015 fiscals for the closure of Erik Buell Racing (EBR), in which it has a 49.2 percent ownership stake. Though reports suggest that can "only" have been for $5m as non-payment of a $20m balance is being cited as one of the reasons for EBR's problems.
In March, HMC-MM Auto Ltd., the Joint Venture between Hero MotoCorp Ltd. and Milan.
