Greek high-performance cotton air filter manufacturer DNA recently added three new applications to its fast growing late-model (2018) applications for the Husqvarna Viltpilen/Svartpilen 401, Viltpilen 701 and Kymco AK550 (2017/18).
2018 Husqvarna Viltpilen/Svartpilen 401 - for race use. Flow is said to be +40.94% more than the factory filter at 129.60 CFM (cubic feet per minute) at 1.5” H2O corrected at 25 degrees C |
2018 Husqvarna Viltpilen 701 - for road and race use. Flow is said to be +19.70% more than the factory filter at 183.20 CFM at 1.5” H2O corrected at 25 degrees C |
Their advanced DNA FCd1 (Full Contour design) technology is an innovative technique developed by DNA that is said to allow the filtering material to follow the contour of the airbox precisely, using the complete surface as “active filtering area“, which is said to eliminate any “dead spots” that can cause turbulence, increasing air flow and filtering efficiency.
2017/18 Kymco AK550 - for road use. Flow is said to be +10.50% more than the factory filter at 132.50 CFM at 1.,5” H2O corrected at 25 degrees C |
The filtering efficiency of DNA’s filtering media is described as being extremely high at 98-99% capture of dirt as small as 5 microns (ISO 5011), using four layers of DNA cotton.
A specially made laser-cut supporting frame is embedded into the DNA filter.
