One-piece tubeless Lambretta rims
In response to demand from dealers and enthusiasts alike, German specialist SIP Scootershop now has high quality, second generation tubeless wide tyre rims available for Lambretta models in 2.50-10 in addition to its 2.10-10 sizes.
Manufactured in high-strength, lightweight aluminium with a pre-mounted valve, CEO Ralf Jodl says that its one-piece designs and high-strength, durable materials "promote smoother running as a result of the state-of-the-art manufacturing accuracy. Vehicle dynamics reach a new level, providing the rider with greater confidence and eliminating the vibrations associated with sheet metal rims.
"The modern double-hump design of the wheel helps prevent sudden loss of pressure while riding if the tyre is damaged. The air escapes slowly enough to enable the rider to safely bring their bike to a halt. Thankfully, dangerous blow-outs at high speed become a thing of the past!
These tubeless SIP performance Lambretta rims are available in two widths - 2.10 is the standard width of Lambretta rims, but 2.50 inches is standard for Cosa or automatic models. This allows more ready tyres to be mounted safely. Ralf warns that the 2.50 rim is not compatible with all disc brakes, but there are some brands that can be easily combined.
Originally, the rim of the Lambretta is screwed onto four studs. For the rear wheel, however, brake drums with 8-wheel bolts can be installed. These should ensure greater strength. "We offer Lambretta rims that can be mounted on four or eight bolts.
The rims are also available with pre-mounted tyres. Applications for the rims include Lambretta 125 LI/Special/GP/DL, 150 LI/Special/SX/GP, 175 TV and 200 TV/SX/GP/DL.
