Spain: motorcycles +11.93% YTD
The latest data from ANESDOR, the motorcycle industry trade association in Spain, shows motorcycle registrations up +3.17 percent for May at 17,620 units (up from 17,078 in May 2018) - the strongest May market performance in Spain since before 2009 - having been +32.91% in March (14,986 units) and +8.67% in April (14,597 units).
For the first five months of 2019 Spanish new motorcycle registrations were +11.93% at 69,006 units - also the best since before 2009.
The moped market in Spain appears to be recovering (+27.26%, 6,792 units YTD), though comparisons with the year-ago period are difficult because of the moped sector's 2017/2018 Euro 4 transition.
In total PTW terms the YTD in Spain was +13.15 percent (75,798 units registered in total).
Honda remains market share leader in Spain so far this year, selling 14,879 units YTD for a 21.6% share. Yamaha was second (10,018 units/14.5 percent), Kymco third, followed by BMW and Piaggio fifth.
