Designed for the 14 mm preload adjustment on Öhlins suspensions, it allows the fork cap to be opened simply by lowering the gold anodised fork tube, fixing the pin to the cap and unscrewing the cap - especially useful when needing to get into the fork while the suspension is still on the bike and when speed is necessary, such as when changing a spring on the grid.
