Switzerland - 2020 motorcycle registrations +21.65%
The latest new registrations data released by Swiss industry association MotoSuisse shows total new motorcycle registrations finishing 2020 at +21.65% on 29,450 units.
The strong finish to the year continued with November registrations of +61.12% and December +76.89%. Although on low volumes it suggests that, as elsewhere, there has been some pre-registration of unsold Euro 4 inventory.
In total PTW terms, the Swiss market was said to be +50.54% in November and +53.89% for December (1,671 and 1,462 units respectively), closing out the year at +17.43% (49,783 units).
In motorcycle market share terms, Yamaha finished 2020 as market leader with 5,172 units sold. Kawasaki was in second spot (4,080 units), with BMW third (3,643), Honda fourth (3,217 units) and KTM fifth (2,184 units sold).
Vespa is the leading scooter brand in Switzerland - in third spot overall in total market share terms with 4,810 units sold.
The top selling model in Switzerland was the Yamaha MT-07 (1,306 units), followed by the Kawasaki Z650, the Z900, the BMW R 1250 GS and the Yamaha Ténéré 700.
