Brake coolers - 10-degree temperature reduction
Spanish parts and accessory specialist Puig continues its prolific new product programme with the addition of these advanced design, aerodynamic brake coolers.
Derived directly from high-level competition, it improves braking performance in sports riding. They have been developed as a result of Puig's experience in MotoGP World Championship and WorldSBK racing, in which Puig sponsors and collaborates with leading teams such as the Repsol Honda HRC and the Kawasaki Racing Team.
With these brake coolers installed, improved front braking is obtained, thanks to the fact that the "brake cooler" cleanly channels direct air to the discs, calipers and brake pads - thus avoiding overheating of this system and possible failures when braking.
"This is very important when riding on the track," says Export Manager Carles Puig. "Racing and high-performance sports bike riding in street and traffic conditions pushes the braking system to the limit. By working constantly, it must withstand very high temperatures - even more so in the hot months."
In addition, this carefully researched design provides a more sporty and personalised aesthetic, eliminating turbulence and increasing the stability of the front wheel by creating a partial lenticular cover that favours the motorcycle's aerodynamics at high speeds.
It is made up of two pieces of high-quality ABS plastic that channel and compact the air to redirect it directly onto the brake pads and discs. A larger intake mouth than that seen on other designs can reduce the braking temperature by ten degrees on average - avoiding overheating and guaranteeing optimal functioning of the braking system.
