Forma Sahara OutDry Cooling Boot

THE Sahara OutDry, the brand new entry in the 2015 Forma boots collection, in cooperation with Inuteq, incorporates the patented Cooling Boot system, which Forma say is the first motorcycle boot which cools itself simply due to water.
This revolutionary system keeps feet cool and dry with the utmost performance and comfort level ensured. Temperature regulation is based on the process of evaporation, which is activated automatically with the use of a limited amount of water (max. 20ml) and allows a long cooling effect. The higher the external temperature is and the airflow intake, and the lower the humidity level, the greater is the overall effect for a cooling capacity that ranges from 5deg C to 15deg C, while the effective duration of the cooling effect varies from a minimum of 8 hours to 72 hours.

This cooling boot was created with front and rear vented material inserts, with ceramic finish for maximum abrasion resistance, which facilitates air intake. The tank, at the rear part of the boot, just needs filling with water and the new patented system will start the foot cooling process.
The Sahara OutDry has all the classic characteristics of the Forma Touring OutDry range. The new and innovative OutDry system includes the use of a waterproof membrane, breathable and 3D laminated directly to the upper to avoid rain or snow penetrating the boot. The boot also features a full grain leather upper and personalised Forma double-density rubber sole, and the rear reflective insert allows for greater visibility during night riding.
Overall comfort and fit are assured due to front and back inserts, which also give added comfort to the shin and calf areas, the Velcro and zip closure, as well as padded memory foam. For safety the boot features externally vented plastic ankle protection, personalised gear pad protection in polyurethane, and internally shin and ankle TPU moulded plastic protections.

The ergonomic Dual Flex midsole, with a stiff mid/back and flexible toe area to facilitate gear changing and easy walking, is in TPU with anti-shock felt covering, designed to minimise vibrations and offer stable foot contact with the bike pedal. The personalised anti-bacterial and replaceable footbed with APS (Air Pump System) and microfibre covering completes the boot. Channels at the centre of the insole expel air uniformly, cushioning and absorbing body weight.
Available in black and in sizes 38 to 47, the Sahara OutDry cooling boot is CE approved, designed and developed in Italy and made in the EU.

It comes in two shell sizes and is equipped with a double visor system (Double Visor Tech) with integrated anti-scratch treated sunshade visor. The outer clear anti-scratch visor is prepared to fit the Pinlock lens. 
Ventilation is provided by 3 glove-friendly air vents, the lower vent on the chin guard drives air directly to the inner side of the visor to avoid misting. The vent on the top channels fresh air inside the helmet through numerous air grooves. The washable and breathable lining, chin guard wind stop and breath guard are all removable.

THIS has been a big year for specialist Australian protective clothing manufacturer Draggin Jeans.
Earlier this year the company was able to announce that it had won a prestigious Red Dot Design Award for its 'Holeshot' jeans - said to be the world's first product to be approved to CE EN13595-1:2002, Level 2.

The company has also signed a licensing agreement with DuPont to use Kevlar in its Classic jeans. The company says that the protective lining it uses in its jeans " passes all the safety tests for CE Level 1, offering two and a half times the abrasion resistance of the next best motorcycle jeans tested".
“This is a big deal for Draggin, motorcyclists and the wider motorcycling community,” says Grant Mackintosh, founder and CEO of Draggin Jeans. “We are concerned with the safety of motorcyclists and that is why we are proud to become an official licensee of DuPont™ Kevlar® fibre for our motorcycle jeans.” Draggin has for many years worked on producing the highest safety for motorcyclists, and its products have been tested through certified methods to be fit for purpose. Draggin has always rigorously tested their products to ensure safety.

ITALIAN suspension specialist Bitubo is taking registrations for their next series of technical training sessions.

Aimed at industry professionals such as distributors, dealers, workshops and race team technicians who want to develop their knowledge of hydraulic suspensions, the one day courses are in Italian and English, with German and French text also available.

The courses are offered in four levels:

• base, for professionals who want to start to learn more about suspensions and the basics that will enable them to find the best set-up for any bike
• advanced, for those who have already completed the base course and want to deepen their knowledge
• racing, where the basics of race suspension set-up techniques are reviewed, and more is leant about suspension tuning for tracks and conditions
• service centre, which covers new model set-ups and replacement/upgrade options

Great custom bikes by Free Spirits

THERE will of course be dozens, if not hundreds of great bikes on show at EICMA, many of them being customised 'company bikes' on exhibitor booths to showcase their parts and accessories.
Italy boasts many fantastic customisers and high quality parts design and engineering businesses. One such, the brainchild of Marcello Fontana, is Carrè, Vicenza based Free Spirits. Noted for their custom Buells, Triumphs and Harley-Davidson Sportsters, their parts programme extends from brake and clutch levers to rotors, from front disc kits to risers and handlebar conversion kits, and from bodywork to exhausts, footrests, triple trees and fairings.

Always in demand, Marcello has no less than three different custom examples on show on exhibitor booths at EICMA.
Motoquality (Hall 2) are showcasing one of Marcello's recently completed customised Harley- Davidson Street 750s, in Hall 4 Bitubo are displaying a Triumph Scrambler "K31" that has been built for official Triumph stuntman Kevin Carmichael, and in Hall 10 Newfren are hosting "Harlequin", another of Marcello's customised Triumph Scramblers.
