Dorna Sports / MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group

MotoGP - pulling in the cash

You can tell that MotoGP (Dorna Sports / MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group) is now under US ownership (Liberty Media, Colorado) by the number of lucrative vendor endorsement and partnership relationships that are being built.

It is a classic US sports business model, one previously less rigorously pursued by European based organisations (FIFA aside) but one that has been assiduously adhered to in the US motorcycle industry by the likes of MotoAmerica and AMA Racing's AFT Flat Track series.

Here in Europe Dorna/MotoGP recently stepped up its nascent relationship with Vmoto, with the collaboration giving rise to a new range of three Special Edition electric scooters being launched under a Global Partnership agreement.

Vmoto Managing Director Charles Chen says that "the agreement provides strong validation of Vmoto's electric vehicle offering from the world's highest class of motorcycle racing championship.

"Under a worldwide agreement with MotoGP's commercial rights holder, MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, Vmoto will design, produce and distribute three unique scooter models inspired by the world's leading motorcycle racing championship. The scooters will be available globally through Vmoto's existing international distributor network."

The limitededition scooters will feature official MotoGP branding and styling, combining Vmoto's advanced electric technology with the spirit and performance DNA of the championship.

As part of the agreement, Vmoto will play an active role across MotoGP's global events and platforms, including showcasing vehicles at selected races across Europe, introducing fastcharging and batteryswapping technology at key locations, and creating global marketing campaigns using official MotoGP content.

"This is a landmark agreement for Vmoto and we are very proud that MotoGP, the highest class of motorcycle road racing championship, associate its brand with Vmoto's two-wheel electric vehicles. The deal will allow MotoGP's significant fanbase to have the opportunity to access electric mobility supplied by Vmoto and allow Vmoto to significantly raise Vmoto's brand and product awareness, and drive sales growth for the Company."

Additionally, Shark Helmets is offering SHARK x MotoGP helmets - an "official licensed collection inspired by the highest level of motorcycle racing. Designed for racing enthusiasts, these exclusive models combine performance, innovation, safety, and design directly inspired by the MotoGP universe.

"Explore the standout pieces from the collaboration, from the AERON GP FIM RACING #2 to the new SKWAL CUP and SKWAL JET CUP models, and experience the MotoGP spirit through helmets designed to deliver a high level of protection, comfort, and style." There are five helmets in the programme.
