Vertex extends FIM MX World Championship partnership for 2021-22
Youthstream has announced that the FIM Motocross World Championship partnership with Vertex Pistons will continue for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
The 2021 season will see Vertex Pistons equip the bikes of some of the best Enduro and Motocross teams - including the Honda HRC team, Kawasaki KRT, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team, KTM Marchetti, Honda Assomotor and GasGas SM Action.
"Vertex Pistons have powered the champions of off-road specialties to victory for decades, winning multiple titles and races. The solid know-how and experience that the Italian manufacturer started to develop in 1953 has resulted in an innovative technology that has produced a line of high-performance racing products developed expressly for Motocross, Enduro, Rally and Moto3 - making the Vertex Pistons brand the reference in the sector".
Vertex won several awards in the recent 2020 racing season - over 20 world titles, from MXGP with Tim Gajser on the Honda HRC (and Jeremy Seewer second place) to Romain Febvre and Gautier Paulin in 4th and 5th place respectively.
In MX2, Vertex Pistons took Jago Geerts and Maxime Renaux to 2nd and 3rd overall in the 250 cc championship, sharing the constructor's title with Yamaha, while in the women's world championship Vertex took Dutch Nancy van de Ven to equal points with the champion.
In Enduro, Vertex riders won 18 world titles - the entire podium in the Enduro GP, Enduro1, Enduro2, Enduro Junior and Enduro Junior1 classes, the victory in Enduro3 and the first two places in Enduro Junior2.
The Vertex Italia product range is not limited to pistons. The Italian company also distributes major technical component brands such as Wrench-Rabbit, All Balls Racing, Arrowhead EP, Cylinder Works, Fuel-Star, Hot Cams, Hot Rods and Pivot Works.
