SMK - Gullwing flip-up
SMK Helmets is a premium brand introduced by Indian motorcycle apparel specialist Studds Helmets and Apparel in 2015. One of, if not the largest of established global helmet manufacturers, Studds traces its origins back more than 50 years, with the first helmets being produced by the Indian company in 1972. Still a founding family owned and operated business, it manufacturers to global safety standards at Faridabad in Haryana, India.
Designed in Italy, SMK's 'Gullwing' flip-up helmet (modular) for touring and everyday commutes offers a comfortable fit and dynamic outer shell design. Sun visor equipped, with its flip-up chin bar and dual P/J homologation, the Gullwing is fully approved for delivering the flexibility of use in case riders demand.
Fully DOT Certified and ECE approved (ECE22.06) it is made in SMK's advanced, proprietary EIRT thermoplastic (Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic) and comes in two different shell sizes with a multi-density EPS and a refined skin-friendly honeycomb liner. The liner features soft-touch hypoallergenic honeycomb pattern to improve the airflow against the skin while delivering superior long-ride comfort.
A comprehensive suite of ventilation features includes a hot air exhaust, top air vents, channelled air intakes and exhausts, wind protector, chin air vents and breath deflector.
The scratch resistant visor is Pinlock 70 ready with a new ergonomic one touch quick release mechanism and dual visor system. Additional features include reinforced and quick release strap and speaker pockets.
Studds/SMK helmets are entirely developed and produced in-house, from the mould factory through to injection machines, testing lab and assembly units. Since 1972 Studds/SMK has equipped many millions of bikers, selling in more than 50 countries worldwide, including in the United States through its Bikerz subsidiary.
