Zard E5+ slip-on and header options for BMW R 1300 GS

Italian exhaust manufacturer Zard is offering new exhaust system options for the BMW R 1300 GS series – a choice of street or race titanium slip-ons with carbon fibre end cap and heatshield, plus steel or titanium decat headers for race or street.

The E5+ homologated titanium slip-on with carbon fibre end cap and heat shield weighs just 1.4 kg, which is -0.8 kg less than stock and delivers +1.8 hp (slip-on only) or +5.7 hp with the Zard decat header.

The racing version weighs less, at 1.3 kg for a 0.9 kg weight saving, and delivers +2.5 hp or +6.4 hp when mated with their performance decat header version.

Available in choice of titanium or steel, the titanium version Zard decat header weighs 1.45 kg in titanium (a -4.75 kg saving) and delivers +3 hp when used with the OEM slip-on, +5.7 hp when mated with the homologated slip-on and a massive +6.4 hp power boost when installed with their racing slip-on version.

The results are still impressive in stainless-steel with a weight of 2.5 kg for a 3.7 kg saving, and power boosts of +3 hp for installation of the stainless steel slip-on only and +5.7 hp for the homologated slip-on and decat header combination.

Entirely handcrafted in titanium, the slip-on features a satin finish and laser-etched Zard logo to complement the carbon fibre end cap and heat shield.

Decataliser headers are available in titanium and steel

Fully compatible with the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, the new Zard system is described as a "premium choice for riders seeking to elevate their machine without compromise - remarkable power gains, a distinctive sound, and substantial weight reduction," says CEO Giulia Gherlone.

Giulia is a third-generation member of the original founding family of the Baldichieri D'Asti (near Turin) based G.P. Technica Group. Founded in 1989 as a cold forming and motorcycle and automotive bodywork parts assembly specialist, the company introduced the high performance Zard exhausts brand in 2005.
