German motorcycle industry trade magazine Bike und Business, edited by Stephan Maderner and published by Vogel Auto Medien GmbH, held their annual "Dealer Day" at their Wuerzburg headquarters in November.

An annual highlight of the event is their prestigious Motorcycle Dealer of the Year award for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, chosen from independent nominations (132 this year) by a panel of industry experts, and this year the award went to one of Germany's northernmost motorcycle dealer, Motorradtechnik Wilhelmsen of Oeversee, Schleswig-Holstein (near Flensburg and the Danish border, north of Hamburg).
No strangers to the event, the company were nominated as Northern Germany Dealer of the Year in 2011, Wilhelmsen are a BMW, Triumph, Can-Am and KTM dealership, widely admired for their media and outreach programmes and ability to turn their customer base into a community with a shared passion for two wheels.
Second were Motorrad-Center Altendiez, a BMW, Ducati, MV Agusta and Honda dealer near Limburg (between Frankfurt and Koblenz), and third were GST Berlin, a KTM/Husqvarna dealer.

Other awards included Best Brands, with Harley-Davidson recognised as best volume manufacturer, Victory as the best "niche" brand and Kymco as the best scooter brand. Bridgestone took the Best Tire Manufacturer award, Matthies of Hamburg (owner of the Larsson network) were recognised both as the best workshop equipment vendor and the best full-range vendor; Schuberth took top honours in the motorcycle helmet category; with Germot scooping the award in the apparel section.
Next year's 12th annual Bike und Business Dealer Day and their 7th annual industry symposium will be held in Wuerzburg on November 24th.
